Milk Bacteria Troubleshooting Panel Option 1: Bulk Tank Culture+SPC+LPC+PI
Minimum of 6 ml milk each sample in a tube 1/4 to 3/4 full. Freeze samples immediately after collection. Samples must remain cold, preferably frozen. Refer to Best Practice: Milk Samples (link) for detailed instructions on how to collect a bulk milk sample.
This panel combines Bulk Tank Culture (including Mycoplasma and Prototheca), Standard Plate Count (SPC), Laboratory Pasteurization Count (LPC), and Preliminary Incubation Count (PI) to aid in investigation of elevated bulk milk bacteria counts. See individual tests for more information. For more information, see Troubleshooting High Bacteria Counts in Farm Milk.
